Two Soups

Robert and Will Janz are Two Soups, the jazz-inspired live-looping duo from Michigan Center, MI. First established in 2021 but with collaborative roots reaching back much further, Two Soups collects both brothers' unique talents into a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Amid saxophone solos and sudden synthesizer flourishes, you'll find an unmatched synergy binding together a diverse set of musical selections, including live, comedic improvisations (which have become a staple of Two Soups' setlists), reinterpretations of hits from nearly every era, and originals from both brothers' vast individual discographies.

Caly Michigan

Caly Michigan is a Hip Hop Artist from Grand Rapids, MI. She uses a lyrically poetic approach to speak her truth and advocate for those who don’t have a voice. Some of her most memorable performances were at Walk The Beat: White Lake, One Peace’s Hip Hop 50th Anniversary festival, and Art Prize in the summer of 2023. At the end of 2023 she joined Tilly & Queenie (Local artists) in opening for Lil Scrappy at his show in Lansing, MI.

Asamu Johnson Blues Band has played in many venues across many States for many decades. They currently have 3 CD’s on the market and in the process of working on a 4th. Their original music is based on people’s everyday lives that will touch your heart and soul and make your feet wanna dance!!!

Returning are two of our favorite local musicians and former hair band rockers, Karen & Eric Smith. These beautiful humans spread love their songs and their stories. Karen has one of the most dynamic voices you’ll ever hear and Eric can play absolutely anything on the acoustic guitar.

He lives in Ludington Michigan with his wife, Jenifer, 14 year old son Quinn, dog Ela, works a day job where he helps alcoholics and drug addicts navigate early sobriety, plays solo dates, duos with former Dutch Henry bandmate Greg Miller, violinist Angela Corbin, 80's hair metal throwback "American Hairband", does freelance gigs, teaches, and still occasionally straps on a guitar for a live Beatle show in front of the mirror.

Lauryn Allen

Lauryn Allen, born and raised in Allendale, MI is a breath of fresh air in the realm of country songwriters. Her mature writing is reminiscent of 1970s storytellers, however she reveals her youth on songs like “Pretty” and “Fool (for u)” detailing a teens perspective on romance. Her original songs connect with audiences of all walks of life, each hearing their own story between the chords.

Dave Burel has been an active participant in the West Michigan live music scene since the British Invasion of the 1960’s. He has been a member of many Muskegon area bands over the past 50 years, including The Zircons, Ben Flanders Memorial Band, Surrender, Nu-Transit, The Flat Rate Band, The Nitecrawlers, The Tokens, The Swingin’ Reubens, Carl Bensen’s Wildcats, Majestic and 3-D. Today, he continues to perform for audiences playing electric and acoustic guitar as a solo artist. When you come to see Dave perform live, you can expect to hear a wide variety of songs that YOU WILL KNOW and can sing along with. From Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and the Everly Brothers to The Beatles, Jimmy Buffett, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughan and so much more, be prepared to revisit several decades of musical history, pleasure and enjoyment!

The Rory McCallan Project

I am a West-Michigan singer-songwriter and cover artist who plays along the lakeshore and the greater Grand Rapids area at a variety of venues: breweries, restaurants, bars, wineries, country clubs, etc. My act consists of acoustic guitar, looper, and vocal and I cover a variety of popular music genres from the 60s to today, including rock, folk, soul, and roots music. My originals could also be broadly classified as falling within these genres.

Chris Clayton takes inspiration from everything he hears, crafting mesmerizing layers of sounds that will take you on an unforgettable journey. With his guitar and pedalboard as his arsenal, Chris becomes a musical maestro, tap dancing around footswitches, transforming his guitar into percussion, and harmonizing melodies simultaneously. Prepare to be amazed by his innovative performance style.

Lightly Salted

In the Summer of 2023 the Father and Son guitar duo teamed up with a seasoned Mandolinist to form Lightly Salted. Since then they have played at festivals and local gigs while developing an acoustic sound that crosses many genres and connects with music fans of all ages. Playing at last year’s Walk The Beat Festival was a highlight for the band and they have been enjoying the musical journey ever since. With Tim Evans, Andy Urqhart and Oliver Evans.

Izzy Joy

Izzy Joy is a 19 year old singer/songwriter with a focus in pop/soul, though she draws inspiration from jazz, country, and blues as well. She has been writing music from a very young age, around the time she began piano lessons at three years old. Since then, she is driven to make a career out of her passion for music. She plays guitar now as well, and loves playing live shows! In the summer of 2023, she released her very first EP on many streaming platforms, and is planning to continue to release her original music. She had the pleasure of competing in a series of competitions during the same summer, and took first in a local competition, and runner-up in the Michigan State Fair. She hopes to inspire other young musicians to follow their dreams as she is following her own.

We are a rock band based here in Michigan that mostly plays original songs. Our influences consist of everything from 60's rock trailblazers like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and The Who, to more contemporary rock artists like The White Stripes, Greta Van Fleet, and Maneskin. For our live performances we strive to combine energetic songs with meaningful and thought provoking lyrics.

Eric Engblade is “Folk-Rock With Teeth”, a joyful Grand Rapids, MI bequeath, pouring over the tug-o-war between wants and needs. His sound and songs are a soothing serenade, singing you to a place where apple pies cool on windowsills, and children play in cattails; accompanied by church bells ringing in the distance, where he warns to be weary of the “Enthusiastic, Evangelistic, Preacher Man”. He hollers, harmonizes, and whispers truths you wish to believe, transforming listeners to the Forests of Manistee, blanketed beneath the shadow cover of Jack Pines on a summer day, sippin’ coffee, pick’n peaches, while your worries slip away.

JD and the Bees Knees is a collaboration with producer Jonah Brockman. Together Jonah and I have built over 40 backing tracks of classic rock, country, and blues cover songs, as well as dozens of original compositions. Performance is Joe Irelan, vocalizing and playing guitar with these professionally built backing tracks.

David Goyette is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Canton, MI. Inspired by all genres of music, he enjoys writing an eclectic range of songs and crafting unique voices for all instruments. With lyrics reflecting his own personal experience, David hopes to emotionally connect with listeners through his music. David has released multiple projects, including the full length album, “Smoking Colors”, EP "Forgotten Tales from the Mountain," and an acoustic series of songs, "Leaves in the Fall" and "Leaves in the Spring". In early 2024, David released his second full length album, "Songs I Used to Love". Nick Veine

Nick Veine is a singer-songwriter and composer born and raised in Manistee, MI. He grew up playing rock and blues before he started singing, pivoting to acoustic music without losing that electric flair. He's a graduate of Berklee College of Music (BM) and Belmont University (MM). You can see him nowadays playing around the mitten performing his eclectic mix of blues, country, jazz, and original music. Think Johnny Cash meets James Taylor meets Alan Menken.

Kate Hinote Trio

Kate Hinote is an award-nominated Detroit singer-songwriter performing predominantly original material she has co-written for her various projects, including the Kate Hinote Trio and Alt-Rock band, The Blueflowers, which she has been fronting for fifteen years. Hinote’s vocals are a mesmerizing blend of cinematic and operatic elements, creating an atmosphere suitable for intimate candle-lit lounges, late summer night fever dreams, or as a haunting torch song within a surreal soundtrack. Teaming up with guitarist David Johnson (The Blueflowers) and Matthew Parmenter (Discipline) on violin, The Kate Hinote Trio emerges as a contemporary and unique alt-folk ensemble, culminating in the release of their debut album, “Near,” in March 2021. Phil Jones has been singing since the early 1980s, from Muskegon, Atlanta, Costa Rica (he and his wife were missionaries there), to Los Angeles Ca. He has an album recorded and is currently working on getting it released, "God and The Funky Monkey". Greg Bulson has been playing on and off in church since the mid 1980s and around in the local area. Now he accompanies Mr. Jones. They both are currently in a new local band "Bonfire Rose".

The Illustrated

The Illustrated is an original alternative/rock band based in Atlanta, Ga. Their music stems from a variety of different influences including Kings of Leon, Matchbox Twenty, The 1975, The Cure, Kaleo and many more. The band members Paul, Jordan, Jorge and Zack met during their studies at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media and Scwhob School of Music. Their energetic live show is engaging and full of upbeat tracks laced in with the occasional heart-felt ballad. They aim to tell stories with their music using distinct tones/sounds, paired with lyrics that the audience can connect with. The Illustrated has played at venues such as Smith’s Olde Bar, The Masquerade, Unruly Brewing, and other premier venues. They are currently playing shows around the Atlanta area, and doing small scale tours in support of their most recent releases. Last year’s Walk the Beat White Lake Area 1st place musical act!

SMITTYVISION

SmittyVision, led by Craig Smith, was birthed in Chicago as a five piece band playing a mix of genres with an original twist. After a long extended hiatus, it is being reimagined on a smaller scale. Craig continues to sing lead on acoustic guitar. He is now joined by Brent Kerr on bass, and adding back up vocals. As this work in progress evolves, they are occasionally joined by friends filling out the sound with additional string and rhythm instruments.

Mady Simon is a small alternative artist that spends her time creating whenever she can. She graduated from Montague high school in 2021 and is attending the local college to study Art History. Mady plays around with unique vocals matched with years of guitar playing to bring you an experience that plays into your emotions.

Max Morrison

Local West Michigan cellist, guitarist, and vocalist who delves into the genres of folk, alternative rock, ambient, and classical. Recently released a second original, full-length album, 'A Time Capsule' which is a mix of folk/singer-songwriter and ambient rock.

Resident of the White Lake Area since 1995, R2 is a solo amateur musician playing a mix of title covers from the 60s through the present, plus some original tunes. He is a bass player first, but now performs mostly guitar and vocals. As an avid boater, many of his songs involve boating and the beach.

1st Place – The Illustrated  


The Illustrated is an original alternative/pop rock band based in Atlanta, Ga. Their music stems from a variety of different influences including Kings of Leon, Matchbox Twenty, The 1975, Hippo Campus, Kaleo and many more. The band members Paul, Jordan and Jorge met while attending school at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. The bassist Zack, was later added to the group during his studies at the Schwob School of Music.

2nd Place - Blaine Luis Band

The Blaine Luis Band is an Ann Arbor based blues, funk, and rock trio reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The band features warm, gritty vocals provided by Blaine Luis and accompanied by his blazing psychedelia infused guitar riffs, thunderous bass grooves from Sean McCrystal that could topple mountains into the sea, and his son, Ian McCrystal forming the bands unstoppable pulse on drums.

3rd Place – Lauryn Allen

Lauryn is a 17-year old singer/songwriter born and raised in Allendale, MI. She began writing songs at age 15 as a way of staying busy during the covid lockdown of 2020. She graduated high school in April of 2023 and has been chasing her dream of a full-time songwriting career ever since. She has an indie-country style and plays all original music.
